As noted in today's Inside Scoop, SoMa's designer-chic Twenty-Five Lusk currently stands as the hottest restaurant in town... according to OpenTable's users, that is. Also: OpenTable's list, based on an estimated 5 million restaurant reviews submitted by Open Table diner for 12,000+ restaurants in the U.S., boasts only one San Francisco spoon. And Lusk is it. Odd.

One would think said list might also feature such scorching restaurants like Frances or Saison or Denny's. But no. Because apparently food is dead; long live dark interiors and comfortable settings in which to get smashed. (If that's truly the case, can we finally say goodbye to the overplayed dark wood-and-lightbulb-filament decor pockmarking some of the Mission's most popular restaurants?)

While this pick is sure it elicit ire from the Bay Area's frenzied food sect, Lusk isn't that bad. Actually, it's quite good; better than it was a year ago, that's for certain. And if it's good enough for bad boy designer Jean Paul Gaultier, it's good enough for your gullet.
