A man was shot early Sunday in East Oakland, and then he was run over, just to make sure the job was done. The incident happened about 3 a.m. on the 1000 block of 88th Avenue, and the victim's name hasn't been released.

Though police stopped a vehicle leaving the scene, it does not appear that anyone has been arrested in connection with the murder.

Over in Berkeley, there were two triple shootings over the weekend, which perhaps were gang-related and perhaps connected? The first, on Friday, happened on the 2200 block of Bonar Street and three men were shot while standing on the sidewalk. They all suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Then early Sunday there was second incident in west Berkeley, on Addison near Seventh, in which several assailants came around a corner and shot at a group of five men, three of whom were hit. All the injuries were non-life-threatening.
