SFist Tonight, 2/22: The Fresh & Onlys

MUSIC: One of Noise Pop's stellar shows this evening includes headliners The Fresh & Onlys, "psychedelic garage-pop revivalists," who "have a reputation for being weird." Flavorpill notes that "[w]hen asked about the inspiration for their music, the band will tell you that songs just pass through the air and that none of their music resonates quite like the San Francisco fog." ART: This special installment of Sketch Tuesday — in addition to being on a Wednesday — will feature staff from various Bay Area museums sketching their hearts out and then selling the end product for a very reasonable low price. The event also coincides with the closing reception of 111 Minna's Harum Scarum exhibition. (6 to 10 p.m., 111 Minna Gallery, 111 Minna)

PARTY: The Cartoon Art Museum's bookstore celebrates Edward Gorey's Birthday with a special evening of Gorey-themed entertainment, including cakes and refreshments, "mysterious interpretations from the Fantod Deck; joyous readings from Gorey’s unique books; and a SPECIAL presentation by Gorey’s New England neighbor and fellow playwright Carol Verburg, who will be signing copies of her books Edward Gorey Plays Cape Cod and Croaked: An Edgar Rowdey Cape Cod Mystery.
