Important Hamburger News: Wise Sons Pastrami Deli Burgers Find A Permanent Home

After a year of wandering the desert popping up around town, much buzzed-about pop-up (there's that word), Wise Sons Jewish Deli will gets closer to opening their doors on a legitimate retail space in the Mission this weekend via a "very, very soft" launch. Most importantly, the regular location means more regular hours when we can stuff our faces with their pastrami deli burgers.

For the uninitiated: the Pastrami Deli Burger is a hamburger, ground with Wise Sons' own house-smoked pastrami, and served on challah bread to really drive that Jewish deli-feel home. Consider it the sophisticated older brother to the inspired, but sadly limited-time-only Pastrami Burger from Carl's Jr. As you know, we here at SFist are unrepentant fans of any local chef who draws inspiration from innovations made in fast food kitchens.

We also imagine this will mean an increase in their homemade pickle production, as well as an increase in the consumption of artisan pickle juice around town, which we generally approve of.

The Wise Sons storefront at 3150 24th Street at Shotwell will open this weekend, but only for a pre-fixe soft opening brunch. The brunch does not include any hamburgers, sadly, but it does include brunch-appropriate items like bottomless beer. The official opening date could come soon, possibly as early as next week, but we'll let you know as soon as they cement a firm opening date.
