The cross-country words are flying in the lead up to the Sunday's NFC Championship game. Giants safety Antrel Rolle, specifically, had some words for game winning catch-maker and 7x7 cover model Vernon Davis.
After hearing rumors that Davis prayed for the Giants to beat Green Bay, Rolle told reporters, "If he said that, I can only hope he’s saying it just because they want to get a home game... They better be careful what they ask for because their wish is being granted and we’ll see them come Sunday.” Harsh words from a guy who also clarified in interviews that his heart did not, in fact, "pump any Kool Aid," and who described his team dynamic as though it were designed to alleviate foot discomfort, saying: "We are not going to be denied at this point. We understand what we have as a team. It’s not all talent, it’s about chemistry and we are jelling [sic] at this point."
Vernon Davis' people, meanwhile, did not immediately return our requests for comment. Probably because the Niners star was busy working on of his other classy endeavors like the masterpiece below that he painted after a trip to Africa last spring. (Just look at those tiger lion eyes!) Or working on his form in curling down at the Shark Tank in San Jose.
Either way, we're glad we're not still arguing about who has better food. At last until next week.
