Sorry, folks: tomorrow, December 24th has been declared yet another winter Spare the Air Alert by the air quality misers at the BAAQMD. By now, you ought to know the drill: no solid fuel burning, no store-bought Duraflame logs, no building a super-flammable bonfire out of excess wrapping paper — none of that is allowed tomorrow in the greater Bay Area.

To be perfectly honest, the air near the SFist Western Branch Office on Divisadero could use a little sparing. Things have been a little smokey over here.

Anyhow, for those of you headed home to Mom's house in the suburbs, the counties that are officially a part of the Air Quality Management District are: Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Napa and parts of Solano and Sonoma counties. Those of you driving up to Tahoe for a mountain Christmas: well, you're in the clear.
