Human-Animal Sex No Longer Legal in Florida

scared_horse.jpg Tonight at the stroke of midnight, Florida State Senator Nan Rich's anti-bestiality bill goes in to effect in that dangling, backwards state. It took Senator Rich three attempts to get the bill passed - apparently because her colleagues thought she was wasting their time attempting to ban something that never happens anyway. Which is sort of funny, in a terribly tragic way, because the Florida New Times has a startlingly lengthy list of recent interspecies mating attempts that ended in simple animal abuse charges.

There's also a chance Florida lawmakers might have accidentally banned normal ol' people sex with some ambiguous wording in their bill, but what's certainly not ambiguous is their definition of "sexual contact". That medically precise description might not be safe for work (or any other time, really), but it does make San Francisco's butt legislation seem downright prudish by comparison.

Especially with a picture like that, I have a hard time deciding if this is even real or not. XD  Seriously they had to use that as their picture for this story?  Besides, I doubt beastiality is really "legal" anywhere in the US.  It just hasn't specifically been made illegal in many places.

I've never read anything on this site before, so maybe this is supposed to be a joke article. I dunno.

If you read my post , I stated its not LEGAL anywhere in the USA and never has been, just because a law is not in place that does not specifically include it, plenty of idiots caught fence-hopping other people's barns or otherwise not locking their door- have been charged with things like animal abuse, animal cruelty, indecent exposure, "crimes against nature" and more.
One creative DA tried to press the issue that since the horse involved in one case was under age 18 she was a "minor."

It does  not make one bit of difference if someone arrested for this is actually charged with anything, just being ARRESTED and having your name, address, where you work,, your mug shot, the nitty gritty gory case details the media seems to get off on now, snide inuendos, and the always insanely overdone initial charges being plastered all over the media, blogs, forums, mailing lists, groups and chatrooms is more than enough to totally destroy the person's life, family, marriage if any, friends, home and job.

Whether someone spends 3 or 6 months in jail at that point doesnt matter- they've already lost their job, home, animals, everything they owned.
So again, only the careless IDIOTS who are not zoophiles  but are opportunist bestialists are the ones typically CAUGHT by someone walking in on them, caught by a barn security camera, seen by someone, or busted for something else and found to have 53,000 porn images on their computer along with child porn.

"As ex-New Times Juice-man Thomas Francis can tell you, people having sex with animals happens a lot more than you think"

I was interviewed extensively by Mr Francis via phone for that very article, he was a very good journalist and writer.

    "We'll
bet someone a dollar that Cody Beck is still having sex with horses in
Arizona, and there are even more cases around Florida that have occurred
    over the years."

I know for a fact Beck is, and no matter what, when he does it in private behind closed doors, and there's no pics, videos, prying eyes- no matter who knows what he does, no law can touch him and the state can't do a thing about it. Florida will learn this too eventually, and what's amazing to me is how in the middle of a major recession with the Govt on the edge of bankruptcy multiple times, and 10% out of work, these legislators freaking waste enormous amounts of time, money and resources on a stupid feel-good do nothing bill that will affect at MOST a couple of people in the entire state in a year and all they will get in the end is a FINE, and maybe 30 days in jail if even that much.

If the STATE  and "Nanny" is REALLY interested in animal abuse as opposed to infringing their right wing views on others, they need only direct their eyes at the MEAT counter in their local supermarket! Google Agriprocessors, the meat packing plant shut down for hundreds of animal, labor and sanitary violations, animal cruelty is rampant throughout that industry starting at the livestock producer's confinement buildings, going thru the way the animals are jammed into trucks and transported hundreds  or thousands of miles with no water, right on to the brutal means used to KILL them.
Lets not forget the massive Govt and private mass poison, shoot, gas, burn, trap and slaughter programs that killed millions of wild animals nationwide specifically FOR the livestock interests.

Next, take a look at the barbaric brutality of "sport" hunting and trapping using steel leg-hold traps that crush and injure the animal's legs.
Yessir, both industries have long and sordid histories of animal CRUELTY, all documented signed and sealed and mostly LEGAL!
But Joe inserts his little 6" pickle in a 1500# mare built to accept the stallion's penis that is literally the size of a man's ARM- is somehow being "abused" give me a  break!, or the girl who allows her male dog to mount her, somehow the dog is being "hurt"  or "forced" to get an erection and do that,  LOL, the hypocracy and idiocy  out there would be a laugh if it wasn't all so pathethic.

Some of these bills in the past have even included the definition of animal as "alive, or DEAD" which gives them away as to their motives NOT being animal abuse at all- dead animals cant feel pain.
What nanny failed to consider now is her bill will make it far MORE likely the animal will simply be KILLED and disposed of if for any reason the animal developed some infection or something that the owner even THINKS a vet might assume was caused by bestiality even if it wasnt- female animals get infections frequently, dogs typically develop uterine infections when they are older as a matter of routine.
So the non-zoo person sees an animal they own having a vaginal discharge, they are certainly not going to take her to the vets and even RISK the vet makes a mistake and ruins their life by making a false claim of bestiality, no, that animal is not treated, or she is KILLED- guaranteed this will be the end result now thanks to the nanny bill.

What the state SHOULD have done, is simply strengthen the exisiting animal abuse laws already on the books, if the animal is not injured, frightened or harmed it's not abuse- period. That is why they could not prosecute the Mr Hands case- the cops poured over every one of the 100s of videos and vets checked every animal and found NO evidence of injuries or abuse. In the end due to political pressure the best they could come up with was a BS charge of "Trespassing" on one guy which carried a fine.

well that's just begging the question... would these anti-bestiality laws prevented the mr. hands tragedy?

it's quite unfortunate ken's life was cut short, a man in his prime, full of nothing but love.

god bless you senator rich, if your bill saves even a single life it would be well worth it.

There is NO state where bestiality is LEGAL, not even in Florida, even the article proved it by showing  a list of those previously CONVICTED of animal abuse.
The "bestiality" bill is nothing less than a feel-good do-nothing nitwit bill because when these acts take place in private behind closed and LOCKED doors with no cams, pics or witnesses, this is impossible to prosecute. It's only the IDIOTS who do stupid things and either walked in on by someone during the act, or seen  by someone who were caught.
They'd have been caught and convicted of animal abuse anyway regardless of  the nanny bill.
I can state with absolute certainty these acts will continue as they have and there's nothing anyone can do about that since even in the past it carried the death penalty and that didnt prevent it, and I know many zoophiles in Florida on-line who dont care one iota about the law, it wont affect them or myself in the least as we keep the door locked, drapes closed, barn door latched and what take place in private isn't going to be seen :)

As far as Mr Hands goes, it wouldn't have made any difference, the so called law to "protect" animals there as a result of that case  is laughable given the fact the horse was fine, it was the MAN who is dead!
Absolutely it continues on in WA state, people dont get it- making something illegal doesnt make it go away, just look at the failed "war" on drugs and prohibition and you can see it's true.

  • pchazzz

So, if Florida is backwards for banning bestiality are you suggesting that allowing bestiality is progressive? Ewww.

  • hi

I'm quite curious to know what google search term yielded that picture of the poor, violated horse.

  • mmathers

"scared horse" pulls this up as the first image.
