Jane Lynch was the guest of honor at Fall Free for All, the season-opening celebration for Cal Performances, this past Sunday. While speaking to a (rapt) audience, Lynch said, "If I could choose who I want to be when I come back in my next life, it would be Darren Criss."
Aw.
Criss, for those not in the know, plays gay crooner Blaine Anderson in FOX's sometimes hit-or-miss Glee. He was born in San Francisco and is the son of Charles William Criss, a banker and a former director of the San Francisco Opera, the Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra, the Stern Grove Festival, and San Francisco Performances. Criss attended the "Young Conservatory Program" of the American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T.) and attended elite St. Ignatius College Preparatory, where he performed in such shows as The Music Man, The Diary of Anne Frank, and Fiddler on the Roof. (He's also a noted heterosexual.)
