As part of the upcoming SF Chefs 2011 (think of it as homecoming week for San Francisco food culture and all the nonsense that comes with it, featuring a prom night-ish bash in Union Square), Foodie Chap and Eye On the Bay host Liam Mayclem will host a class teaching you how to make the perfect meat and booze setting, artisan-style. Check it: "Learn how to design the perfect platter and what types of beverages to pair with it. Salumi experts Chefs Staffan Terje (Perbacco Ristorante & Barbacco) & Paul Canales (formerly of Oliveto) will also share recipes for some simple condiments and pickles that can be made at home from farmers market ingredients. The class will feature house cured charcuterie along with artisan salumi from Columbus Foods and beer from the craft breweries of San Francisco."

The salumi-beer paring class happens, Saturday, July 23rd from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at tge Ferry Plaza Farmers Market. Tickets are $30. Purchase them here.
