Feliciano Valencia-Santiago, the suspect arrested earlier this week on suspicion of murdering 46-year-old Maria Esther Orozco and leaving the evidence stuffed in a garbage bag, has allegedly confessed to the killing. According to court documents, Valencia-Santiago was hired as a day laborer to help Orozco clean up and move her belongings after her Sunnyvale home burned down in December. The day before her body was found, Orozco received 22 calls on her cellphone from the suspect, but the police report doesn't offer any info as to the nature of their relationship.

The Palo Alto DA expects Valencia-Santiago to plead guilt to one count of murder, which carries a maximum sentence of 26 years to life in prison.
