We're getting word that a jumper (pictured here) atop a building at Third and Market streets has caused all sorts of havoc this morning. Traffic along the 600 block of Market is closed in both directions until further notice. Bystander @movenshake sent out the following Twitter update, "Apparently there is a jumper standing on top of Jeffrey's toy store on Market Street. Police/Fire on the scene, lots of lookie loos too."

We'll update as soon as we know more.

Update 11:35: Alert SF notes: "Police activity on 600 block of Market is over. Street is re-opened." Also, for what it's worth, please don't try killing yourself. If you ever feel the urge to end it all, please visit San Francisco Suicide Prevention or call their 24-hour crisis line at 415-781-0500.

11:40: The jumper is safe -- physically, anyway. SF Appeal reports: "The man came off the ledge at about 11:10 a.m. and was detained for psychiatric evaluation, police Sgt. Michael Andraychak said."
