Start painting those protest signs and reserving your ZipCars now: a tipster has let us know that the forthcoming 40-acre retail village called @First appears to be the home to the first Bay Area location of the jesus-loving Chik-Fil-A chain of chicken eateries. You'll remember we're specifically protesting Chik-Fil-A because of their opinions on marriage not because there's anything inherently wrong with their delicious waffle fries or lightly breaded chicken nuggets (and certainly not because of their polynesian sauce). We also take offense to the use of an @ symbol in public signage of any sort, but that's another issue.

Anyhow, if you're stuck in San Jose and looking for an alternative fast food joint, one that reflects your morals as a reasonable human being, we might recommend Five Guys Burgers and Fries. The burger chain is also planning to open a location in the @First mecca of shopping and eating and is still far superior to In-N-Out. (No religious propaganda, unlimited burger toppings, free peanuts.)

UPDATE: There's a Chick-Fil-A in Farfield. Which, yes, technically is as equally close to San Francisco as San Jose. Still does anyone really consider Farfield part of the Bay Area? Didn't think so.
