BART will extend its service until 3 a.m. on New Year's Day to accommodate the large number of people attending the New Year's Eve fireworks show along Embarcadero. Trains will be running once every 20 minutes after the event with additional trains to handle the crowd.

Note that at 8 p.m., BART will begin staggering San Francisco stops on all four routes headed to the East Bay to prevent overcrowding at the Embarcadero and Montgomery Street stations. Check out bart.gov for details on your departing and destination stations.

Additionally, there will be no “flash pass” this year -- riders are encouraged to purchase round trip tickets in advance or use a Clipper card.
