Recent sightings of yarnbombings across the Bay Area indicate that the long relationship San Francisco has enjoyed (or not, it's up to you really) with various forms of street art is taking a turn towards the precious. The Daily Clog took a break from election and baseball news this week to profile Streetcolor - a local team of graffiti-knitters who hand-spin their own yarn (naturally) and have cozied-up street poles and lamp posts everywhere from Union Square and Berkeley, to far away places like Yosemite and Paris.

The duo, referred to simply as "anonymous blogger" and "the Russian" prefer to keep their identities a secret because they'd like "the work to be just about itself and not about our egos and being very important." (Although including one's blog URL with each piece would seem to suggest otherwise.) We suppose it wouldn't be street art if it weren't a legal gray area as well, but something tells us the worst the SFPD could do in this case is a littering fine.
