SFPD PR is so cute, we're going to make this a regular thing.

Today's case involves Maria Lourdes B. Dionisio, a payroll clerk from Pacifica, and Hannah Yau, a financial analyst from Fremont, who embezzled approximately $2,600,000 from their employer, Autonomy, Inc., a San Francisco software programming firm based in England, over a four year period.

It sounds like the two might have gotten away with the scam if Dionisio hadn't been so sloppy. Says Kamala Harris, the case is "a classic example of the fox guarding the hen house.” Rogue and egregious were also thrown in there.

Autonomy only caught wind of the theft when Dionisio, who was fired in March 2010 for reasons unrelated to the embezzlement, filed for unemployment, and -- get this -- listed an annual salary of $449,740 instead of her base salary of $63,000. (Wha-?)

Naturally, the jig was up, and Yau must be pissed. Just look at her.
