There are plenty of 1950s and 60s meal recipes we'd love to leave locked away in the annals of never again. You've got your massive jello molds, Chex Mix, three-bean salads, and those scary casseroles topped with all the Campbell's you can eat.

Luckily, no one's asking us to resurrect these frightening foods mixed with various blends of noodles and goo. On the other hand, how cool would it be to drink whiskey all day long at your desk like the functioning alcoholics do on Mad Men? Though their palate seemed unrefined, people in the '50s and '60s never turned down an opportunity to mix a cocktail. SF's Kelly Malone, creator of Workshop SF, was similarly intrigued.

Tonight's SF workshop is all about Mad Men inspired Cocktails, where you'll have the chance to learn the mixology techniques behind those early 60's vintage cocktails. Just don't ask the kids to mix your drinks for you. Please?

What: DIY Mixology: Mad Men Cocktails
Where: Workshop (1798 McAllister Street)
When: Thursday, March 18 (7-9pm)
How Much: $34 (about the price of three cocktails)
