It's another gorgeous day here in San Francisco -- the perfect day for drinking (if you're into that sort of thing). Here are three St. Paddy's Day events going on downtown, enabling you to sneak out of the office to join in (or if you're like us, you'll steer completely clear of the mayhem).

Check out FuncheapSF for even more events, and be sure to take advantage of the free cab rides if you're lucky enough to snag one. (Ha, luck o' the Irish.) Of course, you could just hang at your neighborhood pub instead, and you won't have too far to stumble into bed later tonight.

The Irish Bank is having their annual block party with traditional Irish music from 1 to 3:30 p.m. DJ Pat will also be there from 4 p.m. until Midnight. 10 Mark Lane.

Royal Exchange is having their party on Front Street (at Sacramento) as we speak until late night. Cover band Wonderbread Five will play from 5 to 8:30 p.m. 301 Sacramento.

The Chieftain will be offering a special St. Patrick's Day food menu until 10 p.m., and their fiddle-playing bartender Glenn Farr will perform, along with Frank Jordan and others. And according to the Examiner, some bagpipers just might show up. 198 5th St.
