Garry South, former manager of Gavin Newsom's failed gubernatorial campaign, is taking jabs at his former employer via a new attack ad. South, currently running the lieutenant governor campaign of Los Angeles City Councilwoman Janice Hahn, and his merry band of wonks just posted this video, one that shows Newsom asking what in heaven's name the lieutenant governor does. (Side note: shout-out to SFist, yo!) Which is odd since, you see, he could possibly run for the gig.

As Mater and Ross and SF Weekly's Will Harper have already pointed out today, the (mean!) ad shows footage of an old Newsom interview where the mayor asks, "What does the lieutenant governor do? For the life of me, I don't know."

Oops.
