San Francisco Marina Hotel Ranks Filthiest Of All
Scott Kleinberg with the Red Eye posted about the 10 dirtiest hotels in the nation as ranked by TripAdvisor, slamming San Francisco's Heritage Marina Hotel California as the filthiest of them all.
In an effort to see what this alleged petri dish was all about, we checked out a few reviews. Brace yourselves.
"First and foremost no one should ever walk into a hotel only to find prostitutes walking around the inside ... [A]s soon as we walked in to the room there was an awful cigarette smell not only in the air but in the sheets. I went to the restroom i kid you not a minute after doing my business i heard as if someone had thrown a bucket full of water. I went back into the restroom and there was a huge hole that had just opened right on top on the toilet from water coming from the room on top."
"Disgusting, filthy, cockroach infested"
"This hotel is like in a horrible horror movie!"
"The pool looks nice in the hotel pictures, but in real life...it's crap! Anyone taking a swim in that pool would probably contract a few diseases... probably not safe to swim in."
"Someone bumbped the peep hole that was on the door, and it completely fell out leaving a gaping hole in the wall the size of a man's arm and when you went to lock the dead bolt on the door, it just spun around in circles. I didn't feel safe in this hotel nor did i feel like it was up to any kind of sanitary standards."
"the manager is unfriendly and the guy at the frontdesk no nothing and does not wanna do anything.and it is quite far to everything.choose anythingelse.serously.greets from germany"
"Filthy old comforters and beds, bathroom had a cockroach, stucco, noisy ceiling fan, alcoholic "guests" (more likely homeless people wandering in from the streets due to lack of security) On more than one occasion I shared an elevator with someone who reeked of alcohol and could barely stand."
On the brighter side, they do have free parking and wi-fi. So, you know, there's that.
