No, no. Did you really think you were getting a day off from having the holiday season shoved down your throat? That you would get a day of rest come Friday? Well, think again. Because Macy's is putting on the city's 20th annual tree lighting ceremony that night.

On Friday, 11/27, the Giant's other pitcher, Barry Zito will host a night that includes American Idol contestant Anoop Desai, Glide Ensemble and the San Francisco Boys Chorus, a sneak peak of Cirque de Soleil’s new show, OVO, and a man dressed as Santa Claus leading "thousands of holiday revelers in a spirited countdown to light the tree."

And the tree? Is gorgeous.

The tree, an 85-foot Shasta Fir, will be on display until January 9. After that, the San Francisco Parks and Recreation folks will shred the tree "to use as landscaping mulch, firewood, and for poles around the city." Merry Christmas!
