SFist Endorses: Angelyne for Governor

Today's Matier et Ross is chock-full of fun. First, the duo tell us that Jerry Brown is in hot water for trying to uphold the U.S. constitution's second amendment. (See, earlier this year, Brown asked a Chicago court to overturned a gun ban, saying that if the court doesn't act, "'California citizens could be deprived of the constitutional right to possess handguns in their homes.'" Hence the anti-gun sect's water works.) Hmm, a Democrat moonbeam supporting our right to keep and bear a cute pearl-handled 45 pistol? Sounds like we have a new governor.

But not so fast, Brown could have a new competitor, one who's prettier than Gavin Newsom: Angelyne.

Following in the footsteps of esteemed gubernatorial candidate Mary Carey, LA-based pinup icon Angelyne, who also ran in the recall election six years ago, could be the thing this state needs to fix itself. But first, as Matier et Ross point out, she should learn about her fellow candidates. Her agent's press release announcing the big news says that Angelyne will go head to hear with "Attorney General Pat Brown," Jerry's dead father.

Either that or he's diverting attention from allegations from ACORN that he won't seriously pursue the charges that ACORN is a criminal organization that helps criminals avoid taxes on income gained from child prostitution.

ACORN is alleging that Brown won't seriously pursue charges against ACORN?

This is a weird state.
