The carsonist -- or a copycat carsonist, or a copycat copycatting the copycat carsonist -- stuck three times in the Easy Bay last night. Three evening car fires hit San Pablo, and authorities are seeing if they're related to the recent string of auto immolation in El Sobrante.
SF Chronicle reports that "[a] car was found on fire near the corner of Market Avenue and Rumrill Boulevard at about 9:30 p.m. Monday ... Two hours later, two more cars were found ablaze on the 2400 block of 18th Street, less than a mile away."
This comes on the heels of 16 car fires that happened in early November in El Sobrante and Richmond.

this is news why, oh yea, because it's in a black neighborhood, who really gives a shit about what goes on across the bay, doesn't san fran have enough mundane news to report. unless someone dies or raped, WHO CARES.
what.
wow, you took the time to type in your username, type in your password, and give thorough contemplation randomly type a bunch of crap? bravo.
jeez can't a girl have a litte fun.
those matchsticks look disconcertingly like those really skinny french fries.
mmmm, fries, aaahhgglll
three less cars on the road..good on ya pyro
I'd so love if the Carsonist started using those One Less Car bumper stickers.
Right, three less cars on the road for one week, until replaced. But the incinerated foam, naugahyde, insulation, and rubber from all three are part of the atmosphere now. Add the pollution from manufacturing the replacement cars, which includes huge amounts of water use, metal plating, paint, etc.
SFist thought these crimes were cute when it started with porta-johns. But hey if a little is good, a lot must be better. Let's burn every car in the Bay overnight and see which way the pollution index moves.
