THEATER: There are two more preview nights for David Mamet's over-the-top comedy, November, which takes a satirical stab at American politics. The play was a Broadway success, and critics describe it as "one of the first breezy and intelligent comedies of substance we've seen in a long time" and "a hilarious, timely, decidedly un-Mamet-like laughfest." The play officially opens on Wednesday, and there are several nights this week with $10 seats available, including tonight. What a deal!

7 p.m. // American Conservatory Theater (415 Geary St) // $7.50-55, buy tickets

COMEDY: Kevin Nealon is the best thing about Showtime's Weeds (but unfortunately he couldn't save the show for us during the past couple of seasons, which took way too cynical of a turn). He's been at Cobb's all weekend, and tonight's the last night to witness Nealon's dry humor in action.

8 p.m. // Cobb's Comedy Club (915 Columbus Ave) // $25, buy tickets

I don't know what it is about bay area crowds, but I had to chew a guy out after Nealon last night cause he would NOT shut up. After the Always Sunny show and now this, I am going to be a bit more apprehensive dropping good money on shows around here.

Un-Mamet like? Does that mean the word 'cocksucker' isn't in it?
