LA Police Chief Gives Kamala Harris Thumbs-Up In AG Run

kamala-harris-pretty.jpg

We're biased. We love us some Kamala Harris. She's pretty. She has the loveliest hair we've seen since we last looked into a mirror. She will temporarily stop an interview to give the proper pronunciation if the reporter fucks up her name. And, arguably, she's been a might fine DA. (Aside: You can sign up for a new SFist commenter account here.) While Harris has been criticized for being a bit of a softy (i.e., she refuses to take part in state-sanction murders in order to appease the Nancy Graces of the world), Harris scored a major endorsement today from a tough-on-crime kind of guy.

LA Chief of Police William J. Bratton -- noted for being "the only person ever to serve as chief executive of the Los Angeles and the New York police departments," so unlike us, he probably doesn't consider hair shine, bounce and volume into consideration when casting his vote -- endorsed Harris in her run for California Attorney General, reports CBS 5/BCN.

"As a career prosecutor with a proven track record of innovation and success, Kamala Harris knows what it takes to effective fight crime and keep out streets safe," Bratton chirped. "I know that when Kamala Harris is California's next attorney general, everyone in law enforcement - from police chiefs and sheriffs to the cops who walk the beat - will have an ally in California's attorney general."

She's not doing anything about quality of life crimes. Bratton of all people should know better.

She refuses to do anything about "taking another person's life" crimes either!

It'd be interesting to see Bratton's stance on the death penalty, i.e., an issue Harris is getting flack for. Somehow, as an LA cop/chief, I don't think they would meet eye to eye...

Harris is a disgrace but is marginally better that her predecessor. She has a strong predisposition to not prosecuting criminials, especially the "protected classes".

Come on Brock! "pretty?" "nice hair?" - how about soft on crime? Like Newsom, she's barely qualified to do the job she has and isn't very good at it. You don't let the dishwasher run the grill and you certainly don't reward incompetence with a promotion.

She probably got the endorsement from Bratton the same way she got her current job. Being Willie Brown's girlfriend.

Imagine having sex with Willie Brown. Imagine being Kamala Harris Fing Willie Brown. Gross!!

Technically, she got her job being WB's girlfriend and because the previous DA didn't prosecute anyone.

Also, I suspect she got Bratton's endorsement by threatening to run for LA's district attorney.

Kamala sucks.

I dunno. Maybe it will be better if she's A.G. because then she'd no longer be D.A.

Still, it annoys me that we're rewarding mediocre achievement and styled public images by elevating these people (Kamala and Newsom) to higher public office.

Kamala is pretty. She's nice too. But she's a lame DA.

She keeps her conviction rate high by dismissing nearly every case brought to her.
The cops have just about given up bringing any cases to her.
It's a very good time to be a criminal in SF.

Kamala gets no love from the peanut gallery. See the comments on ANY story on sfgate mentioning her name.

Kamala Harris = soft of crime, thats all one has to say but who was the BOZO before her? I forgot his name ....

Please remember San Francisco District Attorney Kamala Harris' name as she made the decision to not seek the death penalty against Edwin Ramos for murdering a man and his sons. Kamila Harris is running for state attorney general next year. Let's make sure she is not elected.

The death penalty is just NOT the big issue, and I have no idea why so many people are so riled up about it. The perp will get life without parole, what's the difference?

The bigger problem is that Kamala is ineffective concerning the many smaller crimes, quality of life and others, that make SF an increasingly dangerous and unpleasant place to live. Based on this track record I think she would be a terrible attorney general.

The previous guy was Terence Hallinan, who was even more of an idiot.

If she is so talented, why did Obama's team pass her over after her all of her ass kissing and groveling?

Also, who cares what the LA Chief of Police thinks of anything? Wait until one of his men or women gets killed in the line of duty and Harris pleads it out to jaywalking and time served....then he'll change his story.

I knew Brock was talented, but typing out this post while jerking Kamala off at the same time brings it to a whole new level.

there seems to be a disturbing movement in our country to abandon the death penalty. the aclu has won. they did it in quite a clever way, making it take 20 years to appeal someone through to the sentence they so rightfully deserve. they make sure enough death penalty experienced lawyers are not available to represent the serial killers and molesters of the world in the process. way to go! i hope you and your children don't get raped and murdered along the way. that would be the true karma you have so rightly deserved though. fucktards!

I am voting for the former deputy DA whose record reflects what Californians are looking for. I am tired of these self promoters. Vote for Pedro Nava!
