SFist Tonight

JacquelineGordon.jpg

ART: Artist Jacqueline Gordon's solo work, Our Best Machines are Made of Sunshine, merges contemporary folk aesthetics with the emergent technology of sound imaging, exploring patterns recurrent in nature and collected sounds "synthesized to create inhabitable sculptures that alter one’s physical experience to evoke feelings of intimacy and connectedness or confinement and isolation."

8 to 10 p.m. // Queen's Nails Projects (3191 Mission St) // free

COMEDY: This month's installment of Comedy in the Castro is sure to be a fun one. Hostess and comedic diva Sasha Soprano presents Loni Love, of Chelsea Lately and VH1's Best Week Ever, and Nene Leakes of Real Housewives of Atlanta (which we've never seen, but we've definitely heard of Nene!).

7:30 p.m. // Castro Theatre (479 Castro St) // $25-75

MUSIC: French hip-hop star Wax Tailor will spin "an intoxicating hybrid" of soul, Hip-Hop, funk, and jazz off of his latest release, In the Mood for Life during a free set at Amoeba this evening, followed by a show at Slim's tonight.

6 p.m. // Amoeba (1855 Haight St) // free
8 p.m. // Slim's (333 11th St) // $16
