Found at Geary and Fillmore, Greg Dewar of N Judah Chronicles came across this bilingual, demanding sign that asks you to not cook and eat San Francisco's pigeons.
Always a good reminder, we suppose.
Update: Ah, that makes more sense. Slow news day, obviously.

Apparently Greg has learned all his Spanish from Muni signage.
That sign means don't give food to the pigeons. "No coma las palomas" would mean don't eat pigeons.
Seriously... that's what it says in Russian below as well: Feeding pigeons forbidden. Go take some language classes Greg!
Please do eat them. There are plenty to go around...
I misread "comida" in my rush to take the pic and upload it via Flickr iphone. Thanks for all the kind words, though, friends. I don't use spanish nearly as much as I once did, and verb conjugation was never my pal.
Spanish and Russian and not Chinese?
So true. I saw the Russian and thought: "can Chinese people read Russian?"
Duh, it says "For a favor don't comedy at the pigeons." So just keep your stand-up at the open mic at Brainwash.
I see a missed opportunity to rid the city of these flying rats AND make ethnic groups happy. Where's the problem with that?
How do you say Squab in ethnic?
No hard feelings I hope, Greg. I couldn't pass up the chance to trash Muni's translations, which make even a gringo like myself wince.
Hmph! If someone actually finds those little grey fuckers appetizing, I say have at 'em!
Or we can kill two birds (*snicker*) by offering a small bounty for each dead pigeon - say $1 each. You'd see a lot less pigeons, and maybe less panhandling too...
