Hardly Strictly Bluegrass 9: A Gallery

We would have taken some more closups of the artists, but you know what? It was pretty goddamn crowded out there at HSB this year! It was especially crowded come around 5:30 p.m. when Neko Case went on in Lindley Meadow, which was perhaps too small a venue for her when the show's free. We think maybe Mr. Hellman should consider just taking over the polo field next year, or not inviting such big names. But it was, if you could stake out a few feet of grass to call your own, a lovely couple of days. (Photos by SFist/Joey DeRuy and Generik11 on Flickr.)

Cool snaps!

> Mariann Faithfull's guitarist.

Is the esteemed Doug Pettibone, perhaps most famous for the years he spent with Lucinda Williams

glad I went to LoveVolution instead of this geriatric snoozefest!!

I'm glad you weren't at Hardly Strictly too!

Be Young, Have Fun. Drink Pepsi.

And I had no idea the Guilty Women really were all-women.

Wish The Blasters had played.

...and hanging out with a bunch of teenagers dressed like fairies is waaay more respectable I guess....

OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH SNAP! Take that, Sniffy.

The picture labeled Gogol Bordello IS Gogol Bordello (not Galactic), but it's from last year's show.

WAY FUN. Got there super early saturday and stayed at the Banjo stage, so didnt stress the crowds that much. Highlights were Gillian Welch, Red Wine from Italy, and Billy Bragg. Knitters were fun but I definitely think I dont need to see them anymore. Thumbs up for the special treats that were being sold all over the place. I definitely hope they keep doing this the same weekend as LoveWHATEVER so the ravetards dont show up.
