Love Parade '09: Some Pics

Speaking of fuzzy hats... It's been dubbed LovEvolution this year, but it's all the same shit. Nostalgia for 90s-rave-era fashion, combined with deep house beats and nostalgia for 60s-era peace, love and body paint -- all reveled in by teenagers who are too young to remember either. Well, them and at least A DOZEN fully naked, middle-aged men who looked like they just wandered out of the dungeon they've been in since Folsom Street Fair just to get their picture taken with some kids. Seriously, guys -- half of these girls and boys are, like, twelve! Put some clothes on! We couldn't even stomach taking pics of the nudists, but here's some general sense of the day-drinking, dancing, and drugging that paraded up Market Street toward the afternoon rave at Civic Center.

7:45 PM UPDATE - *MAJOR* shitshow at Civic Center BART/Muni right now. The cold blew on in, everyone's coming down and shivering in their skivvies. It looked like they'd locked the Muni gates and were otherwise preventing the crowd to move through, or else they were too effed up to figure out the whole making change thing. Anyhow, see more pics at this Flickr Pool.

Wait, what? Like American Apparel models, you mean? Lulzies!

I have some pics here, NSFW if you can't look at 60-year-old man ass at work.

Sorry I was to busy riding my new cruiser back to 6th and Market while Market St. was empty and I could when the last of the floats hit 8th and Market.
Peace, love, and lots of Fuzzy's

To take pictures, dang again with the 'Busy' sign.
Puff, Puff.... Pass....

Muni metro was not ready today to handle the crush loads. They ran mostly one-car trains, except the N-Judah.

I was getting off BART when this "love" festival was ending. As soon as the doors to our car opened a gaggle of drunk 14 year olds streamed into the car and ran over an elderly woman who was trying to disembark. Literally knocked her down and walked over her. It was one of the most shameful things I've ever seen in this city.

Come on BART cops - there's gotta be some sort of middle ground between "shoot on sight" and "lord of the flies"

aw, did you miss american idol because of those bad little teenagers! ;)

San Francisco has so many dumb events.

I went out for dinner last night and caught the "Love Fest" peeps heading home. Each and every one doing the walk of shame - as if they had any in the first place. Me and the girl were walking around and I blurted out "what is this - was it 'bring a slut to work' day?"

One of them actually took umbrage to my outburst. Hell, if you're going to walk around town dressed like a skank in a tiny pink skirt with a black thong and your ass hanging out then expect a little bit of chatter.

I hope they blow these photos up and show them at your weddings for you very brief marriages. What a bunch of attention whores.

I hope you had fun with that post. I know the people you are talking about and they did. I was there at 'LoveFest 09', and can belive a gaggle of girls doing that by the way.
With Peace ,Love, and warm Fuzzy's,

I had a fun-filled BART ride towards the east bay with this crowd last night. The creepiest part was that about 1/20 or so of the party wasn't drunk/stoned high schoolers but was 30-40something guys dressed like high schoolers.

I wish they would stop the nudist old men. This city needs more laws to protect the children.

The parents need to keep their children from dressing that way, and from going to these types of events.
I went to see wicked and was surrounded by all this craziness, such a shame.

OMG these comments are hilarious - sfist has been taken over by cranky old people.

I agree whole heartedly with SanFranCitizen! What is with all of these cranky comments from stick in the mud uptight freaks?! THIS IS SAN FRANCISCO! For those of you who don't know, and there are a lot here, the LovEvolution Parade idea started in Berlin. The parade is a demonstration for peace and international understanding through love and music. What is the problem with that y'all????
