Forming Sand Dunes Close Great Highway

According to Alert SF, "the Great Highway has been closed by the US Park Service because of sandunes [sic] forming near Great Highway at Noriega. Please use alternate routes to avoid this closure."

Apparently, it's very windy out at the beach this evening. Batten down the hatches, westsiders!

I was just out there. Felt like a cosmic bully kicking sand in my eyes.

YES! It has been very windy over here since this afternoon. My windows have been rattling all day....but at least it hasn't been foggy as usual!

There's a good chance the Upper Great Highway will be shut-down Wednesday for the morning commute. Better find a different route.

OHHHHHHHHH, THE CARNAGE.

Still closed at about 10am today. Like Sunday Streets, but on Wednesday. There's no wind now, and the road is completely passable. That pic is of the worst of it. Northbound at Noriega. That tiny speedbump is the only place the sand crosses the road.
