THEATER: ACT has joined forces with England's Kneehigh Theatre in this limited engagement, U.S. premiere of Brief Encounter, which is "ingeniously crafted with whimsical humor, dreamy romance, and stunning multimedia effects." The play is centered around a suburban housewife who falls madly in love with a married doctor in a 1938 railway station.

NIGHTCLUB: BULB, a weekly night of eclectic, hot, and freaky performances, presents The Funk of 40,000 Years, celebrating the undead and the Jackson Family. There will be "SideShowCrew" dancers, an elaborate variety show, hot go-go artistry, and the sounds of DJ Bear Z Bub. Attendees wearing creepy-crawly costumes get in free.

10 p.m. // The Stud (399 Ninth St) // $8

FILM: Join the folks behind BDSM: It's Not What You Think! for "kink, corsets, and cocktails" at their DVD release party and screening, which is part of the Good Vibrations Independent Erotic Film Festival going on this week. Models sporting corsetry atop pedastals, exotic raffle prizes, and a Q&A will accompany the screening of this half-hour documentary dispelling the stigma and stereotypes behind kink and fetish play.
