Builder of Oakland's Fox Theater Once Imprisoned For 'White Slavery'
John Montgomery, 37, has been identified as the 34th San Francisco homicide victim of 2009. Montgomery was stabbed at the Vincent Hotel at 459 Turk sometime around noon on Thursday. According to CBS 5/BCN, "[p]olice arrested another man in connection with the stabbing, but his name has not been released. " The Vincent Hotel, by the way, is a rather large housing unit for the city's homeless population, run by the Tenderloin Housing Clinic.

Alex Herrera, another hotel resident, was arrested a block-and-a-half away from the hotel, about 10 minutes after the stabbing, according to police spokesman Sgt. Wilfred Williams.
"He had left the scene but he was detained by hotel staff, until police arrived," Williams said.
Herrera didn't have a weapon on him when he was arrested, and Williams would not confirm whether a weapon had been found at the hotel.
