Restaurant Bill Tells Family What Waiters Thought of Daughter

thankyoulittlecurseword.jpg
Eater reports on a couple of cheeky British waiters who deserve some sort of award. See, on August 30 over in the UK, two-year-old Molly Craig was acting "restless" at Halifax, West Yorkshire eatery Cactus Joe's. Since parents are accustomed to their precious cargo acting like trolls on meth, they tend to ignore it when it happens in public spaces, most flagrantly at restaurants. So, in an effort to passively explain to Molly's parents that their daughter's behavior was inappropriate, they printed the following on the bill: "'Thankyyou littell fucker." Chortle. Anyway, as non-food service industry types, we have to ask, how do you deal with restaurant brats, waiters and waitresses of the Bay Area?

that's the most bizzare receipt i have ever seen. there is a line item for every single customer preference. how silly.

I've always been a proponent of giving service workers the right to kick unruly patrons in the nut sack. Or for female patrons, falcon punches.

Wow. I ate at that Cactus Joe's several years ago while in Halifax, and thought the service staff were so friendly since they comped me a bowl of their specialty soup when the entree I ordered was no longer available.

But now I realize "Weallpissedinthis Soup" isn't actually West Yorkshire delicacy.

The article says this happened on its opening weekend. So you must have been at a different one.

Well, there aren't very many kids in the city so I rarely see them to begin with, but on the rare occasion that I do I almost always find children that are fairly well-behaved. Perhaps the parents of obnoxious children are also the type to flee to the suburbs or never even leave the suburbs to begin with? I almost always see far more babies than toddlers or older children.

I usually just grin and bear it. And every day I'm reminded why I don't want children.

Ha! Well, here in San Francisco, we're too busy ignoring the real live trolls on meth to spend too much time worrying about our "precious cargo." Although, I've never been to the no doubt fine funtime foodeatery in question, a Yorkshire restaurant named "Cactus Joe's", can not be too fancy a place. I can't wait for that guy Gordon Ramsey to feature this place on his show where he rescues dreary UK hovels from their insipid owners and junkie cooks.

What does this have to do with the local area or even this city?

you see, sometimes things outside the bubble of san franc-- oh wait, that wasn't really a question.

Have you been to West Yorkshire and heard the accent? I'm not sure it's English they speak there...

I was a waitress for about 12 years. I'm not anymore but I'm still very aware of how my children act. I make sure they are polite and not needy. That said, however, it comes at a cost; they are messy. My trick - Tip Exceedingly well.
