Five months after a liver transplant, Steve Jobs is alive and on stage at Apple's "It's only rock and roll" event this morning. The focus is on music, and the release of iTunes 9, but if there are any huge announcements you can find them here in the next half hour. We're not physically there, but as a service to you we're going to give you a few highlights as we receive them from the fine nerds at Endgadget -- and for the truly Apple-nerdy among you, you can click over there for their moment by moment live blog.

10:06 a.m. - Steve alive, thanks his 20-something liver donor who died in a car accident. Announcement about iPhone and iPod Touch software update 3.1

10:09 a.m. - A bunch of bragging about iTunes is the #1 music retailer in the world. They're updating the Genius functionality. Endless mix possibilities from your library -- that is if you've invested days organizing and properly labeling your genres.

10:19 a.m.
- iTunes 9 and the iTunes store have a new look and feel and help your organize your Apps better. Something about home sharing, where you and "your wife" can see each others' libraries better. *YAWN*

10:20 a.m. - Oh, it seems this home sharing thing is sort of huge. It means you'll be able to drag and copy music, movies and apps from a separate device in your home -- whether it's your roommate's, or your very own if you live alone like we do. How are record companies going to stand for this? We suppose it's no different than copying a CD.

10:29 a.m. - Of course they use a Dave Matthews record to demo. Now something about iTunes-specific DVD extras, blah blah... And they're on to the iPod.

10:31 a.m. - Phil Schiller on stage jacking everyone and himself off about the success of the iPod.

10:40 a.m.
- Looks like they're pimping the iPod Touch as a hand-held video game console to rival Nintendo and Sony, and expanding their game offerings.

10:54 a.m. - iPod Touch 8GB comes down to $199, with the 32GB at $299 and a 64GB at $399.

11:08 a.m. - New iPod Nanos will have cameras, FM radio, and pedometers. Still all the same bright colors.

11:09 a.m. - Norah Jones now on stage singing some new smooth folk-rock. Not exactly "rock and roll," guys.
