A cable car collided with a van near Washington Street near Mason Street last night, injuring four. According to SF Appeal, "The crash happened at about 5:15 p.m." And "two passengers were taken to local hospitals and two others were treated at the scene." Yikes. None of the injuries, thankfully, were life-threatening.

Just to clarify, the van was reported to be a MTA non-revenue vehicle, which means it's maintenance or something.
Can't we stop with the MUNI on MUNI violence?
We are all Muni.
First they came for the streetcars,
And I did not speak up,
Because I was not a streetcar ...
I've never gone as far as saying the CC or Streetcar or F-Line drivers are infallible, but things like this always just perplex me. It's not like those things can jump off the tracks and aim for a car. On the flip side of that, they can't jump off to avoid something either. Either the operator couldn't stop in time, was distracted to the point of not seeing the van, or the van tried to do something real dumb.
It'll be interesting to see how this plays out, especially since it seems to be city department vs. other city department.
