But what does Mayor Gavin Newsom and/or the Mayor’s Office of Communications have to say about Sunday's impending BART strike, you ask? Good question. Here's the answer. Ahem:
Today, I am calling on BART and the Amalgamated Transit Union to go back to the negotiating table to work out a deal and prevent a strike. Halting service to BART’s 340,000 daily riders will hamstring Bay Area commuters, clog our freeways, and affect businesses across the region as workers and consumers are left stranded. All jurisdictions are feeling the pain of the tough economic climate and a BART strike that strands riders will only make it harder for everyone who lives and works in the Bay Area and relies on public transportation.
So, there you have it.
In the meantime, you can find more info on BART alternatives at SFMTA's site. They have loads of helpful information on carpooling, ferry terminals, SamTranst, AC Transit, Muni info (for those of you uninitiated with that joy that is Muni transit), and more.

Outstanding documentation of Gavin's appetite for destruction.
Now that's what I call "doing rails"!
thanks gavin, for taking time out of your busy pre-election activities to "call on" BART to not strike. i'm sure all they REALLY wanted was a little attention from you...
counting down the seconds to the apocalypse..
Isn't it cute how Gav thinks everyone cares about each little thing he farts out?
Gavin is like that little retarded cousin in the family.
Every now and then you pay attention to him just to be polite, but you know he's retarded so you really don't listen to anything he says.
