This photo on Curbed seriously made our afternoon. Apparently, a long-time Curbed lurker discovered this rooftop streamliner while doing a building inspection for a housing project in the Tenderloin. Blogger 40Goingon28 confirms it's located at the 100 block of Turk Street. Another Curbed commenter speculates that "All you need is an airsteam and a crane" to pull off this feat. See this beauty from another angle.

you realized you just busted this poor guy out?
Something similar at a hotel I stayed at in Cape Town:

I wonder which came first. The Grandaddy Hotel may owe 126 Turk some royalties.
eh, how does this happen?
If it is an old enough Airstream does that make it 'historic'?
Or should I start rampaging about the obvious lack of permits?
I'm so confused with which knee-jerk response to go with.
As a firefighter in the SFFD, I must say that although it looks cool and all, it would be EXTREMELY dangerous to firefighters if there were a fire there.
don't you have some overtime to work
Although many others work overtime, I do not unless it is mandatory.
This thing got up there pretty recently, as the images in google maps, street view and satellite, don't show it.
reminds me of the boat scene from Way of the Samurai.
