According to an annual fan cost index, the beer you buy at AT&T Park is baseball's most expensive suds. NBC Bay Area has the full report: "That $8.75 you pay for a 20-ounce beer is more than any other team in baseball in America charges -- by a full 75 cents." Coming in at second place was beer at Tampa Bay Rays' Tropicana Field in Florida, who charge $8 for a 20-ounce beer. But the beer that wins the title of worst deal? NBC Bay Area gives that distinction to Boston's Fenway Park, where "7.25 only buys you a 12-ounce beer."

Go to Chop House. Duck and weave your way to the bar. Get beer in a cup to go for about 3 dollars cheaper. Of course, this works best pre-game, but they'll sell them to you to go through all 9 innings.
This prevents the riff-raff from getting too drunk and starting fights.
by riff raff you mean yuppies too, right? because they're dicks as well, but dicks who can afford $9 beers.
except that many of them don't need beer to act like dicks.
They apparently didn't research well enough. A 20 oz souvenir cup of Gordon Biersch Marzen or Pilsner is $9.75. I know this for a fact, because I sell it.
Indeed, but a souvenir cup of macro-brewed swill is $8.75, is it not?
Oakland's got the best deal, what with a 22 ounce 'Big Corona' for $12.00 -- which was, sadly, only $10.00 a scant two years ago. Actually, strike that -- the best deal is to buy a pint of bourbon for $8.00, sneak it in and drink whiskey and cokes all game long.
the other thing you can do is change your mindset. whenever I go, I just tell myself I'm going to Manhattan. and then the prices are downright cheap!
Oh, i just read the pdf, and it doesn't really apply to my lifestlye (such as it is)

Parking? programs? soft drinks? I don't understand the place for any of things at a baseball game.
Are you saying you don't buy two hats every time you go to a game?
I have been sneaking in beer since the Giants thought it cool to rip off their fans.
Do the other ballparks have Safeway grocery stores within a block and allow you to walk in with all sorts of consumables (granted, you may not be able to walk in with glass and what not) ... I think they should get some points for allowing alternatives to the ballpark concessions.
