According to SF Examiner, PETA campaigner Jena Hunt "organized a protest scheduled for noon today at 600 Van Ness Ave., where two PETA 'chicks' in red bikinis will be crammed together in a tank of 'bloody' water with the message 'McDonald’s Scalds Chicks; to Death.'" (Aside: While we do not care much for McDonald's culinary vision, we highly recommend their Crispy ranch BLT sandwich, which you can get grilled or fried. Well worth the 600 calories. Trust us.) In an interview with the Ex, Hunt explains, there "a more humane slaughter method called controlled-atmosphere killing ensures that animals are killed painlessly while still in their transport crates before they have their throats cut or are handled by workers." Good point, Hunt. Also, there's a "McCruelty: I’m Hatin' It" billboard up at Sixth and Brannan today.

I have that same expression on my face in my passport photo that Hunt does in the Examiner article. We both look like assholes.
Their campaign is very misleading. I mean, they scald evil full grown chickens to death, not innocent baby chicks that are fluffy buttons of sunshine yellow goodness. You can't make a chicken sammich out of a baby chicken, PETA! Not enough meat on the bone! PETA knows nothing.
Good point about killing them in their crates. I have a snake, and I feed him pre-killed mice from a mouse farm. They kill their mice by the same method, carbon dioxide. It's more humane and the animals don't look mangled and bloody (as opposed to the method of killing a mouse by holding it by the tail and whacking its head against the counter).
I have not eaten at Mc Donalds in years however today I was happy to buy my office staff lunch at McDonalds in a salute to the morons at PETA. The chicken wasn't the best and the bun was soggy however the $$$ I spent with at McDonalds today was $$$ they would have never gotten, Our staff thanks Peta , keep it up my staff loves a free lunch
