Sightglass Coffee's opening day was yesterday. Owners Jared and Justin are "super nice," according to Yelp. And their brew? Is billed as "artisan." And, from what we hear, pretty damn fantastic.
Be sure to check out Sightglass Coffee at 270 - 7th Street, between Howard and Folsom.
But the place is not "fully open," it seems. According to Jon Bauer, "Sightglass is scheduled to fully open in September, but they are now serving a delicious custom blend from Verve Coffee Roasters. Sightglass will be one of 3 places on the planet to have a Slayer Espresso machine - they say that this espresso machine enables 'discrete pressure control across the brew band.'"

Between Blue Bottle, Cento, Vega, and now this place, I think the SOMA folks have enough coffee spots at this point.
Hollow at 17th and Irving and Trouble at 44th and Judah haven't gotten any love here because, well, they're at 17th and Irving and 44th and Judah and it seems like SFist's SF doesn't extend past the panhandle, but they're also new-ish and fantastic.
Hey, Brock's been out to our part of the city, I have proof! :-)
ohhh... gentrification...
but I do love good coffee...
