In an effort to make itself relevant again, Yahoo will undergo an extreme makeover. According to All Things Digital, "in what many sources at the company said is a major push, Yahoo (YHOO) is working on a massive plan to overhaul its brand in order to repair a damaged public image and focus consumers on what defines Yahoo." Just what that definition is these days is anybody's guess -- that is, aside from the wildly entertaining / scary Yahoo CEO Carol Bartz. The onetime internet giant, we're told, hired San Francisco branding gurus Landor Associates to help re-imagine the Sunnyvale-based portal. So, dear readers, do you have any advice for Landor and Yahoo? We're certain they'd love to hear your ideas. Let them know in the comments.

Please leave flickr alone. That is all.
Seriously. Flickr is the only thing worthwhile on Yahoo.
yes, do NOT tinker with Flickr. unless...
-you want to make the background black, or at least dark grey
-your Uplodr allows you to send to multiple groups
-you allow users to control the flow of the actual stream
-you can upgrade your stats/analytics
-you export EXIF data from a CS3 saved image
rehab the "Exlore" page. one can only take so many images of cute kittens and macro'd flowers.
You can override the (flickr specific) background color in firefox by editing userContent.css in your profile folder.
Try adding this to that file:
@-moz-document domain(flickr.com) { body {background-color:#DEDFDE !important; } }
It makes some of the other buttons & titles look strange but it's a start.
maybe the answer is to (somehow) copy the success of flickr?
also, don't touch yahoo answers! its the greatest compendium of stupid the world has ever seen.
A search engine would be nice
Rolling over and playing dead would be their best bet. I mean, what's the point?
seconded. yahoo, your time hath come.
All those people who have Yahoo e-mail accounts (not to mention the people who, you know, work there and stuff) will be pretty fucking miserable if Yahoo goes the way of the diplodocus.
I must be an outsider since I never thought Yahoo was in bad shape. You people make it sound like Excite or something.
