According to KRON4, folks are lined up outside the downtown Apple store to grab one. And, according to Darya Folsom, it's nuts! But, look, check out this Craigslist ad, which takes all of the line-waiting out of buying a new iPhone. It also takes all of the dough out of your pocket. Behold.

I was in line very early this morning so you didn't have to be. I will deliver or meet you in San Francisco. Cash only and I'd prefer to meet at a bank of america so I don't have to carry all that cash around.
Math:
16GB iPhone 3GS $599 + tax + $200 for sitting out here since 4am = ~$850 for a brand new, no contract iPhone 3GS.

walked by there around 10:15 and there only were about 10 people in line. Not bad.
I was by earlier today and I saw only a handful of people outside the store. When the 3G came out, the line was halfway down the block and taking people 5 hours to get through.
What a difference an economic meltdown makes!
yeah, that and the fact that last time the only place you could get them was the stores. this year pre-orders and in home activation allowed people like me to skip the store line.
Too bad... the ad's been deleted. I totally want to know whether the market for marked-up iphones is really as hot as it was in 2007. Like, are there really enough douchebags out there who still can't wait until tomorrow to go pick up their phone, when the line subsides?
the market for douchebags in SF seems recession-proof.
