Over 3 million people, and an estimated 600,000 Bay Area residents, aren't prepared for today's analog assassination. See, digital TV will reign supreme at midnight tonight. And unless you want to end up as one of those pretentious types who claim to use their television sets strictly for rental videos -- you know, the talent-free trustifarian kind who prefer the East Bay; frequent awful venues like 21 Grand; laugh a little to hard at Shakespearean comedies; read books? You do not want that to happen to you -- you antenna types will need to a) get yourself a expensive digital TV, b) get cable, or c) get a converter box so that you can watch Intervention, the best show on TV right now. To get a coupon for a digital converter, go here. Go here for more information. Or call 1-877-DTV-4YOU (1-877-388-4968) when your TV goes a midnight.

Does this mean the city will tear down the Sutro Tower antennas now??
Digital TV is still sent through the airwaves, duh!
"talent-free trustifarian kind who prefer the East Bay"
hey! it was supposed to say "GOLDEN" after the end quote.
as in "talent-free trustifarian kind who prefer the East Bay" - GOLDEN
"Over 3 million people, and an estimated 600,000 Bay Area residents, aren't prepared"
Does that mean that 1 out of 5 Americans in the dark live in the Bay Area? What's up with that?
Because there are a million better things to spend 50+ dollars on a month than staying home to watch Rock of Love reruns on cable.
I know. You could be watching Daisy of Love instead.
Some of the digital signals are too damn weak. And now you have to rescan your damn box over and over again.
it's such a small price to pay
Once analog goes dark, the digital signals will have their power increased, and some will move to different frequency. So a scan tomorrow should find more and stronger channels.
I don't have a TV set. I have a widescreen laptop and a high-speed Internet connection. I watch shows on-line and on DVD. So I'm a little behind... that ain't new.
So does this mean that WQED is going to have to fix the audio on whichever of their digital channels is mute most of the time?
KQED as well.
FYI, full eps of Intervention recently came to hulu. There is a dog!
