As SFist Deborah and your editor took advantage of Orson's first-ever lunch service today (we both recommend the fried chicken sandwich on parmesan bun, complete with expertly fried dark meat that made us binge), we got word from our regular bartender, Jessie, that they're having a quasi-screening party for tonight's premier episode of . See, famed SF chef Elizabeth Faulkner (executive chef/owner of Orson and Citizen Cake) will be a contestant on the show. So, we recommend you heading over to cheer her on to victory.

Also, this isn't your regular Top Chef, folks. It's an artisan Top Chef, if you will; the VIP room of food-based competitive reality shows.

And if you're not into trying to get a reservation or committing to an entire meal, don't fret; you can set up shop at Orson's spacious, horseshoe bar and just watch the show projected onto the wall. (Added bonus: It's the perfect spot for the sapphically-inclined to gather. Really, the place is always dripping with ladies who love ladies.)

But Faulkner isn't the only local promoting themselves / vying for a $100,000 charity prize. (Charity prize?! Pft.) Mustards Grill's Cindy Pawlcyn, the reportedly prickly-yet-spot-on Michael Chiarello, and Fleur de Lys' Heubert "Gimme a Head With Hair" Keller will also throw down along side Elizabeth. (Check out the entire roster.)

The screening starts at 8 p.m.
(Orson, 508 - Fourth Street, 415-777-1508)
