SFist Tonight

PERFORMANCE: The Thrillpeddlers present the revival of the legendary Cockettes' 1970s crown jewel production, Pearls Over Shanghai, a comic mock-operetta about white slavery and miscegenation set in the colorful world of 1937 Shanghai, China. The event marks the Cockette's 40th anniversary. Tonight and tomorrow night's performances are preview nights, and the show opens on June 12.

MUSIC: The SF Opera presents free Opera at the Ballpark. Puccini’s Tosca will be simulcast on the big screen, which will make for some interesting acoustics. Register for your seats in advance, and you'll be automatically entered into the event's ticket drawing.

ART: With the building soon approaching demolition, Varnish Fine Art is hosting an Eminent Domain Awareness Group Show, featuring Jello Biafra, Matt Gonzalez, newsman and Argonaut editor Warren Hinckle, business consultant Melinda Phillips Zumski, live screenprinting by Political Gridlock and The Firehouse, and music by Burnt House and DJ Evil Justin, plus surprise guest performers.
