SFist Tonight

ART: Yerba Buena Center for the Arts concludes its 2008-2009 season with Nick Cave Soundsuits Collaboration, which combines the movement of New York-based choreographer Ronald K. Brown and the shimmering Soundsuits of Chicago-based sculptor Nick Cave. Tonight, Saturday, and Sunday nights, in collaboration with Brown and Evidence dancer Shani Collins, local performers will bring to life Cave’s Soundsuits—ephemeral full-body sculptures composed of recycled clothing, beads, bottle caps, toys, twigs and hair. The exhibition runs through July 5.

FILM: Free Form Film's monthly series presents Culture Crash, featuring Sonic Youth in 16mm -- David Borengasser's film of Sonic Youth performing at the Fillmore, Alphabetization of the Wizard of Oz -- Matt Bucy catalogs each word in the classic film, along with animation, channel surfing, web-mashing and internet doodling, found footage filmmaking, and many other acts of culture-consciousness.

MUSIC: Berlin-based garage-soul band King Khan & the Shrines, which consists of a French organist, a German horn section, a Japanese go-go dancer, and an Indian/Canadian singer, are sure to put on an interesting and likely unforgettable show. Mark Sultan and Apache open.
