Week Around the Ists

I'm still kinda confused as to whether I'll be able to gt on my regular "local" N at my normal stop of 19th Ave at around 6:30 AM (and use my normal Fastpass) and still get to the start on time (race starts at 8).
Will the normal N be stopping there? If so, is that enough time? I can imagine it's gonna be a clusterfuck, they can't even get rush hour right (a la this morning).
I really don't wanna have to spend $7, esp. since the race ends on my side of town and I won't (thankfully) need Muni to get home.
OK, well, that's what I get for not reading after the jump.
I guess the question remains as to how much time to give myself and whether my normal Fastpass will be OK if I take the regular N Metro streetcar.
It looks like the N doesn't normally start until 7:30 a.m. on regular Sundays, so you'll probably have to pay the $7...
Yeah, I didn't even think of that..I can count on one hand the times I've taken the N owl bus on weekend mornings.
Although it seems to indicate that for B2B the trains will run, at least from my stop.
For sure, it says it starts at your stop. I just meant they'll probably make you pay the $7, since you can't technically say you're riding it for anything besides the event.
That lack of detail just means that the answer to your is one that will inconvenience and anger a lot of people.
I like this vagueness, too:
"Additionally, express bus routes 1AX/BX, 9AX/BX, 31AX/BX and 38AX/BX will run before the race on a modified schedule to a single downtown stop near the starting location."
I guess they can't reveal the modified schedule nor the single downtown stop lest they ruin the surprise!
One of the biggest things worth repeating is that there is ONLY special Muni trains before 9 a.m. You can't board a train at any of the underground stations without paying the special fare until after 9 a.m. I saw some near fistfights at Church St. last year from disappointed people with fast passes.
And don't surprised if a 71 bus drops you off at 9th and Market. Happened to a bus I was on one year. "Yay! Let's start this long walk by walking 10 more blocks to the beginning!"
Fortunately, the Giants game that day is an evening game. I'd be pissed trying to swim through costumed and sweaty B2B folks.
5:00 start for the game, but its sold out, so I'm sure Muni will still be a clusterf*ck
They sold out a game?!
It's a bobblehead night.
The main rule is to STAY THE HELL OFF LINCOLN! I have been stuck at the Lincoln / Kezar / Frederick split on Red Cross shuttle buses for more more than 1 1/2 hours. Two years ago the drive back downtown took 2 1/2 hours. We could have walked back to Downtown faster.
Yeah, hear you. Makes you wonder what the fuck all those little old Chinese ladies and workers who head downtown every Sunday morning anyway are supposed to do. I'll definitely be bringing $7 cash with me to be on the safe side. Fuckers.
(By the by, I was just at the Expo picking up my bib and t-shirt and all that crap, and even the people selling the Muni tickets there didn't seem 100%. Of course.)
Always nice that Muni seems to view special events not as a chance to put in the extra effort and rise to the occasion of showing that they're a competent and thorough transit provider who serves the community by adapting to special events, but a monopoly that knows they can easily gouge people.
