My girlfriend actually just got sick today. Which is further coincidental as she already had a doctor's appointment for this afternoon. Running a fever and not feeling well, but none of the other major symptoms (e.g. non-productive coughing, headache) and the doctor pronounced it wasn't swine flu. Still... very freaky timing. Definitely not a great time to be immunocompromised by something else.

Sigh... just remember the basic tips: ---Wash hands for at least 20 seconds. An easy way... sing the "happy birthday" song twice. ---Don't touch your face, nose, or mouth with your bare hands without washing them first. ---Don't handle food without washing hands. This includes picking-up food like french fries to eat. ---Cover your mouth when sneezing and coughing. --Carry a small bottle of hand sanitizer in your coat pocket. Perfect for times when running water is not available. Save money by buying one small bottle, and a big bulk bottle at your drugstore. Best non-illness streak: three years just by taking these precautions.
