'Erotic Services' to Remain Open In Wake of Craigslist Killer

After Connecticut Attorney General Richard Blumenthal asked Craigslist to remove its 'erotic services' section, and "hire staff to screen images and ads that are in violation of the website's terms of service and take measures to fine users found in violation" due to heat stemming from the Craigslist Killer, Craig Newmark, Craigslist's CEO, said he has no plans to shutdown the pay-for-play section of the site. He also pointed out that CL already has flagging capabilities from the general public. "Sometimes a bad guy of some sort tries to pull a fast one on our site. We don't want it there, it's wrong, and that's why we have the help of the general community and the law enforcement," said Newmark.
