There's a showcase today of a new interactive map thing, Urban EcoMap, co-sponsored by Cisco Systems and the City of San Francisco, that tracks the environmental footprint of a city by zip code. San Francisco will be the first city in the world to use the technology once it launches, which won't be for another 29 days. It's kind of giving us a case of environmentalist blue balls, being able to see a demo of the map (showing that the Marina is clearly going to lose in every category -- transportation, energy, waste, swimsuit) without being able to play with it yet.
