SFist Tonight

FILM: Sorry to be coming at you so late with this, readers. But if you can make it at this late hour, here's a real treat for this evening: Persepolis (2007). This animated autobiographical coming-of-age film, adapted from Marjane Satrapi’s graphic novels, tells a harrowing tale via stunning black-and-white, depicting Iran’s tumultuous changes through the eyes of a young girl who manages to "survive in the most oppressive of societies." With voices of Chiara Mastroianni, Catherine Deneuve, Iggy Pop, Sean Penn, and (best of all) Gena Rowlands.

7:15 p.m., 9:20 // Red Vic (1727 Haight) // $9
